3.       Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - 
        The Organization
        Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank was established on 20th May 1997 as a Public Joint Stock Company through the Amiri Decree No. 9 of 1997. 7.       Commercial Bank of Dubai - 
        In 1969, when we at COMMERCIAL BANK OF DUBAI started out little did we know that sheer grit and determination would get us where we are today. 2.       Bank of Baroda - 
        Bank of Baroda (U) Ltd started its operations on 18.12.1953 by opening its first branch at Kampala. Later on, it was incorporated as Subsidiary of Bank of Baroda-India with 49% shareholding of Govt. of Uganda.  Under privatization move of Govt. of Uganda, Parent Bank- Bank of Baroda (India) became the sole owner by taking over 49% shareholding of Govt. of Uganda on 07.06.1999 and divested 20% shares to public in Sept. 2002. In June 2002, bank split its share of Ugx.1,000/- each into Ugx.100/- each before divestment of 20% shareholding to the public.  The IPO of 20% shares having face value of Ugx.100/- were offered at Ugx.600/- during Sept. 2002. Further, split of Bank’s share in a ratio of ten shares for every one share held has been affected on 08.09.2008. Consequently the nominal value of each ordinary share of UGX.100/- has been converted into UGX.10/- each.
        Pursuant to the Financial Institutions (Revision in Minimum Capital Requirements) Instrument 2010, the Bank has enhanced its capital from Ugx 4.00 Bn to Ugx 25.00 Bn in two phases. The number of ordinary shares of Ugx 10/- each has also increased from 400,000,000 to 2,500,000,000.At present Bank of Baroda, India holds 80% shares of the Bank. Bank of Baroda (u) Ltd was the first Financial Institution in the country to list its shares at the Uganda Securities Exchange. The Bank issued bonus to its shareholders at two occasions in 2011 and 2013. In 2011, the Bank increased its capital from Ugx 4.00 Bn to Ugx 10.00 Bn by issuing bonus shares to its shareholders.

        The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th  August 1966. 8.       NIC Bank - 
        NIC was incorporated in Kenya on 29th September 1959, when Standard Bank Limited (“Standard”) and Mercantile Credit Company Limited (Mercantile) -both based in the United Kingdom – jointly formed the company. The company was amongst the first non-bank financial institutions to provide hire purchase and installment credit finance facilities in Kenya. NIC became a public company in 1971 and is currently quoted on the Nairobi Stock Exchange with approximately 22,000 shareholders. Barclays Bank of Kenya Limited acquired 51% of NIC’s total shares through the acquisition of Mercantile in the 1970s and Standard’s shareholding in NIC in the 1980s. Between 1993 and 1996, BBK divested its shares, selling 38% of its shares to the public in 1994, and the remaining 20% in 1996 to the First Chartered Securities Group (FCS).
        Due to changing trends, regulatory requirements in the Kenyan banking industry and the need to meet growing customer requirements, NIC obtained a commercial banking license in 1995. In order to effectively diversify into mainstream commercial banking, NIC Bank merged in November 1997 with African Mercantile Bank Limited (AMBank), which was then owned by FCS, by way of a share swap. 9.       Stanbic Bank - 
        Stanbic Bank is part of Africa's leading banking and financial services organisation, Standard Bank Group. Our heritage in Uganda goes back to 1906 when we operated as National Bank of India. 1.       Bank of England - 
        The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. Sometimes known as the “Old Lady” of Threadneedle Street, the Bank was founded in 1694, nationalised on 1 March 1946, and in 1997 gained operational independence to set monetary policy. 4.       Lloyds TSB Bank - 
        Lloyds Bank plc is a British retail bank with branches across England and Wales. It has traditionally been considered one of the "Big Four" clearing banks. Originally founded in 1765, the bank expanded during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and took over a number of smaller banking companies.         In 1968 National Provincial Bank (est.1833) and Westminster Bank (est.1836), merged as National Westminster Bank. Together these banks could trace their history back down the centuries through a lineage of prestigious constituents, dating back to the 1650s. The announcement completely surprised the City and the public, but to both banks the advantages were apparent - the merger enhanced balance sheet strength, created opportunities to streamline the branch networks and enabled greater investment in new technology. The statutory process of integration was completed in 1969 and National Westminster Bank commenced trading on 1 January 1970, with the three-arrowheads symbol as its logo.

6.       National Bank of Ukraine -

        The year was 1831 and in Dedham, a group of citizens interested in having a savings institution in town got together and established The Dedham Institution for Savings, as a mutual bank.         Regions Financial Corporation was formed in 1971 as First Alabama Bancshares Inc., Alabama 's first multibank holding company.         Regions Financial Corporation traces its roots back to three Alabama-based banks who became original affiliates of First Alabama Bancshares, Inc., chartered in 1970 as the first multi-bank holding company in the state of Alabama. Those three banks are: the First National Bank of Huntsville, chartered in 1856, the First National Bank of Montgomery, opened in 1871, and the Exchange Security Bank of Birmingham. The Exchange Bank, an institution organized in Birmingham during the spring of 1928, started with capital totaling $35,000 and in 1947 moved to Tenth Avenue and 20th Street South. The new building was the most modern bank structure in the city and brought Birmingham the first drive-in teller window and the first bank parking lot. It also set the standard for other banks by being one of the most modern and customer-focused banks in the South. The Exchange Bank had grown to more than $19 million in April of 1957 when it consolidated with the Security Commercial Bank to become the Exchange Security Bank.
        In 1970, a small group of Alabama bankers and businessmen got together to form the first multi-banking holding company in Alabama. Their proposal was grounded in one idea: sound banking principles and new growth opportunities could be combined to create a stronger financial institution for the state. These banking pioneers overcame legal and regulatory hurdles as well as opposition from the banking industry in the state. Finally, in July 1971, the three Alabama banks joined to form Alabama’s first multi-bank company. With the combination of three respected banks, the holding company began operations with a total of $543 million in assets and 40 locations in Birmingham, Huntsville and Montgomery. The Birmingham, Huntsville and Montgomery banks formed the nucleus of what is now Regions, giving the company a strong presence in three of the four largest metropolitan areas of the state. The bank quickly expanded its market by acquiring more banks. In less than four years, First Alabama’s assets doubled – from $543 million in 1971 to $1.2 billion at the end of 1974.
        As the bank entered its second decade, the banking industry was changing. Changes in the laws and regulations, which govern banking, allowed it to offer customers new types of accounts, including certificates of deposit in 1978, followed by interest-bearing checking accounts in 1981 and individual retirement accounts (IRAs) in 1982. Also in 1981, the Alabama Legislature passed a law allowing multi-bank holding companies to merge their affiliate banks into one statewide bank. As a result, the bank’s management devised a new structure for the company, which strengthened and streamlined the chain of command while still emphasizing the importance of local involvement and understanding of local needs in each bank community. The passage of an interstate banking bill in 1986, which allowed Alabama banks to purchase out-of-state banks, opened the door to new possibilities. The company expanded into Florida first, then acquired additional strong banks in Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas and Texas – all of which have retained the local autonomy encouraged and supported by Regions.
       The marriage of computers and telephone communication networks made possible an important development in banking – the introduction of automated teller machines (ATMs). In 1981, the bank established a statewide network of ATMs known as The Right Place banking machines. With one of the most extensive ATM networks in the state, the bank played a key role in the organization of a statewide-shared automated teller machine network, which went on line in April 1986. In 1987, Regions became the first bank in Alabama to provide customers with direct access to their account information via a computerized telephone inquiry service. Telephone banking continues to offer customers convenience today. By calling 1-800-REGIONS customers have access to automated account data and assistance from financial professionals.
        Years of growth and changes followed, culminating in a final name change on May 2, 1994 when the company became Regions Financial Corporation to better reflect its growing presence throughout the South. The Central bank is a public body, which in the framework of its competence develops guidelines for the single state monetary policy, has the exclusive right to issue banknotes in circulation in the form of notes and coins as legal tender, is the body of currency regulation and control, acts as a banker, advisor and fiscal agent of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, performs the functions of supervision and regulation of banks and other lending institutions. The properties of the Central Bank are its cash and other tangible assets, the cost of which is reflected in the balance sheet of the Central Bank.
        The main purpose and objectives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan 
         Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the main purpose of the Central Bank is to ensure the stability of the national currency.
        The main objectives are :
        - formation, adoption and implementation of monetary policy and  policy on currency regulation;
        - organization and provision of effective payment system in the Republic of Uzbekistan;
        - the licensing and regulation of banking activities, the activities of credit unions, micro-credit organizations and  pawn  shops, the supervision of banks, credit unions, micro-credit organizations and pawnshops, licensing of  production of  forms of securities;
        - storage and management of official foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the    provisions of the Government under the agreement;
        - organize jointly with the Ministry of Finance the cash execution of the state budget.
        - To ensure the stability of the national currency the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan solves its basic   tasks, the essence of which are as follow:
       - implementing  concerted monetary and currency policy, the Central bank exercises supervision over the total   money supply in circulation, the stability of the exchange rate of the national currency against foreign currencies, promotes to maintain public confidence in the banking system.
       - varying the amount of the money supply through its credit and exchange business, the Central bank affects the   dynamics of prices of goods and services, the total volume of production, exports and imports, impacts on     employment levels.
